God does not tempt us

What Christ achieved is what we will achieve

Oneness with God

He demonstrated to us as an example

And those who follow him will meet him

He does not set perfection before us

Not to be achieved

As a temptation that we cannot have, teasing us

But sets perfection before us

And reaches out to meet us in that state

He becomes like us so we can become like him

James 1:4

“But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”

I John 4:12

“…his love is perfected in us.”

I John 4:16-18

…God is love; and he that dwells in love dwells in God, and God in him.  Herein is our love made perfect.. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear…”

St. Luke 6:40

“The disciple is not above his master: but everyone that is perfect, shall be as his master.”

No matter which way you turn

You are seeing Christ

He is in everyone

Those who don’t know

That he is in them

Have forgotten him

There is no other

Than Christ

Who endures pain

It is not us that cry

But rather Christ

Who cries for us

Matthew 27:46

“…Jesus cried with a loud voice…My God, my god, why hast thou forsaken me?”

Psalm 22:1

“My God, my god, why hast thou forsaken me?…”

We find bits of God here and there

And they all add up to him

If we see all these bits and pieces of him over time

We can see how they all fit together

But we have gradually, over time,

Picked up these bits and pieces

And so it has been a gradual process

To be able to grasp this totality of him

Little bits at a time

First we take baby steps

To see the totality of all this–

All we see in this world

Would have been too overwhelming to grasp at once

Like a child grows, we grow and learn over time

But cannot possibly grasp all at once

But I felt overwhelmed

When God’s grace did come to me

Like a newborn

Who is able to grasp the understanding

Of a wise old man who has seen it all

Born with all that experience behind me

Yet new and full of wonder and awe

At the glory he has given me

And all I had to do

Was let go of everything I knew

And grab onto Christ

Jesus Christ

No one is greater than Christ

Though Christ is greater than no one

He is not different than mankind

That who has taught me all I know

That which was here before me

There is no one greater than Christ

Likewise Christ is greater than no one

We are the same

There is no difference

I have followed one who is Christ

And he followed God

He became as God

And I have become as him

St. Matthew 10:24-25

“The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.  It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord…”

St. Luke 6:40

“The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.”

The love my lord has given me

Cannot be experienced

Between two human beings

For the love we have is spiritual

And can only be experienced

By spiritual beings

We can know that love

That no other human can give us

It comes from the spirit within us

Who is Christ

St. John 24-26

“…for thou loved me before the foundation of the world…And I have declared unto them they name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.”

How do we see Christ?

Meaning do we see him:

As a father

As a brother

As a son

As God

As a teacher

As a spiritual leader

As a man

As the messiah

As the Creator

As one of the created

As the Word of God

As a master

As a servant

As truth

As love

As glory

Who is he to us?

He is all of these

But above all

He is my husband

My very soul

Genesis 2: 24

“Therefore shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”

St. Mark 10:8-9

And they twain shall be one flesh:  so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.  What therefore God hath joined together, let no man put asunder.”

Romans 8:35

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?…
