What veils the truth
From our comprehension
The mind is limited
In its understanding
But the Spirit has no limits
Truth and love
Are plain to see
I in you
And you in me
Love is a commitment
Based on truth
Without truth
There is no love
Without love
There is no marriage
Without marriage
There is no unity
St. John 14:17
“Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive…but ye know him; for he dwells with you, and shall be in you.”
His word is like an echo
That when sent out
Returns to him
Again and again
But it returns to him
Hollow, empty
Nothing but an echo
Of his words
When will his word
Return to him fulfilled
And who can receive it
St. John 10:16
“And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.”
No matter what it is
If it is not shared
It is nothing
And so to us
Christ gave his spirit
Not to one but to all
Whoever can receive it
Let him receive it fully
The spirit is given
Without measure
It is free to all
Who can receive it
