The Mind

Art: Immaculate Conception by Giovanni Bapttista Tiepolo

When the spirit

Puts her foot

On the head

Of the serpent

Game over

The mind is

A worthy adversary

A worthy opponent

But no match

For the spirit

Spirit trumps mind

She created the mind

Overcome the mind

Do not see it

As an obstacle

But as a stepping stone

Adam and Eve

In the beginning

There was nothing man made

Nothing but God and his creation

No sin

One thing though—

If you eat from the tree of knowledge

You will die

And just what was death to them

They were never born

And just how old were Adam and Eve

They were never children, infants

Just created by God in his image

So he must have given them his mind too

Or somehow taught them

Everything there is to know

And exactly what language

Did they speak back then

That even serpents

Could communicate

With God’s creation

Spirit of God

When I was covered

At the second it hit my head

That serpent within me

Stood straight up

So the spirit of God

Would have a place

To rest her feet

On the head of the serpent

Rev 12:14

“And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and a half time, from the face of the serpent.”

Genesis 3:14-15

“And the Lord God said unto the serpent…And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”

Genesis 8:912

“But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him in the ark…then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her unto him into the ark…and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more.

St. John 1:32

“And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.”
