Tree of Knowledge

The Bible takes us
From the garden
To the time of Christ
And Christ takes us
Back to the garden
Where it all began
When the wisdom of God
Became the knowledge of man

Genesis 3:22
“And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil…”

The Cross of Christ

The cross represents death

As does the tree of knowledge

These two are the same tree

And the word of God

Is the fruit of that tree

Jesus said

Eat my flesh

And drink my blood

And when she did

Her eyes were opened

St. John 6:54

“Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

Genesis 3:7

“And the eyes of them both were opened…”

Tree of Knowledge

The world he saved

Was this world

The one we have created

The one we live in now

He put the knowledge

Of this world

In a tree

The tree of knowledge

Of good and evil

The name of the tree tells us

That to have knowledge

We must know both

Good and evil

And for these two

To grow from

The same seed

Tells us

You cannot

Have one

Without the other

How is it

Good and evil

Grow together

In one tree

Everything we know now

Was in that tree

We are the gods

They wanted to be

Genesis 3:5

“For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.”

Psalms 82:6

“I have said, Ye are gods…”

Tree of Life

Are we a product

Of the tree of knowledge

Of good and evil

Or are we an offspring

Of the tree of life

Which tree did

We fall from

Before

The Word of God

Appears

It must first

Take root

Genesis 3:24

“So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.”

Revelations 22:16

“…I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.”

Tree of Knowledge

In all innocence

And out of curiosity

I dared to question

Why did he put

That tree in the garden

And it was by that question

That my faith in God

Became secured

In that by my question

It proved my faith

In the creation story

And he answered me

For my salvation

Did he put the tree

In the garden

And at that moment

Did I know my place

And my purpose
